I would like to share this story to you.
There was a religious man who always did something to serve the lord. One day he participated a vigil in a nearby town for the celebration of a feast. It was already dawn when he decided to say goodbye to his friends. He had to come home early in the morning to feed the pigs and chickens. His family had a piggery and poultry farm. That day was his turn to feed them.
He hurriedly took his bicycle and pedalled his way home. He did not see the blind curve along the road. It was too late when he found out and he went straight into a pit. As he hurled himself into the darkness, his hands were like tentacles trying to get a hold of anything around him to stop him from falling.
He was lucky enough to grab something like a twig of a tree which he recognized later on as a thick root of a tree. As he was clinging to his dear life, he instinctively shouted for help. Nobody seemed to hear him. This time he prayed to God to save him. No human being could save him. He said, "Lord, please help me out of here." He was asking earnestly for the lord's help. After a few moment, to his astonishment and surprise, he heard a voice from above. "Jump," said the voice.
His prayer was answered at the right moment. He thought otherwise. What if after he jumped, no angel of God would be there to save him. He would surely plunge himself to death. He was afraid to follow what the voice had told him to do. In desperation, he said in a loud voice, "Was it you Lord, telling me to jump?" "Are you not joking?" There was a long moment of silence.
Finally, daylight had come to the rescue. He realized that he was just a few inches away from the ground. Jumping down would not cause him any trouble.
